Itinerary of: 6 Days Tour From Tangier

Reception in Tangier. Drive into the Rif Mountains and through the town of Tetoun to enjoy a magnificent view of the mountains. Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City, is nestled in the Rif Mountains. It is a wonderfully charismatic town where you can stroll through its relaxed streets and marvel at its funky atmosphere and impressive handicraft stores. The medina reflects the town's past Spanish influence, with a multitude of restaurants and rooftop cafes throughout the town. Overnight in Riad / Hotel.

Departure to Volubilis after breakfast. We will pass through Wazan and other small villages located in the Rif Mountains. Arrival in Volubilis and exploration of the Roman ruins. Continue to Meknes, the City of the Olive Tree, and explore its sights, such as the medina, Bab el Mansour and the shrine of Moulay Ismail. Drive to Fez for dinner and overnight in a Riad / Hotel.

On the Fourth day of our 6 Days Trip from Tangier to the Sahara Merzouga, we will pick you up at your hotel or riad around 8:00. To reach Midelt, we will travel through the highlands and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas.

We will pass through Ifrane, a captivating ski resort town. Cedar wood craftsmanship is the specialty of a remarkable craft center in Azrou that is worth a visit. Dinner will be served in Midelt.

Later, we will travel to the Sahara desert of Merzouga, passing the Ziz River, which rises in the eastern High Atlas and flows for 280 kilometers, carving its way through limestone rocks and creating magnificent gorges, with a flow ten times greater during floods.

The village of Merzouga, known internationally as the Merzouga Dunes, is located 50 kilometers south of the Erfoud dunes. The natural attraction is easily accessible and offers an extraordinary and moving experience.

You will ride a camel like a Touareg into the magnificent dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will set up a makeshift camp for the night. You will dine on a traditional Berber feast and spend the night in a nomadic camel yurt.

After enjoying our breakfast, we will set off to explore the area. Our first stop will be the village of Khamlia, also known as the Gnaoua Village, where descendants of Sudanese slaves reside. We will have the opportunity to spend time with the locals, learning about their culture and experiencing the captivating rhythms of Gnaoua music. Before returning to Merzouga, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in the village.

In the afternoon, we will embark on a camel ride, venturing deep into the Sahara Desert. As we traverse the mesmerizing sand dunes, we will witness the breathtaking reflections of the setting sun and marvel at the celestial display of stars at night. Accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the Berber drum, we will arrive at our destination: a luxurious desert camp. There we will delight in a delicious dinner and spend a peaceful night immersed in the enchanting desert atmosphere.

Get up early in the morning and climb to the top of the dunes. You will witness the sunrise and experience the peaceful moments of the Sahara. After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Back on the paved road, drive through the Ziz valley, full of palm trees and adobe kasbahs.
From here, you will head north to Midelt, nicknamed "the apple capital" and where you will have lunch. In the afternoon, you will cross the Middle Atlas through the Tizi-n-Talremt pass. We will then drive along a beautiful road lined with green oak and cedar trees to Azrou. Here you will be able to observe Barbary apes prowling through the trees.
From here, you will cross Ifrane, very remarkable for the sloping roofs of its houses. At the end of the day you will arrive in Fez, where you will conclude your desert route from Marrakech to Fez.
