itinerary of: 2 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKCH

Start your Zagora desert excursion from Marrakech leaving in the morning from your riad or hotel in the direction of the Zagora desert dunes. You will cross the Atlas Mountains and pass the fascinating Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest peak in Africa.
Along the way, you will stop at scenic viewpoints to take breaks and photograph the beautiful views of the valleys and the beautiful Berber villages perched on the hillside of the mountain environment. After crossing the pass, you will continue descending the mountains to reach Ouarzazate, where you will have lunch.

Then, in Agdz, located on the edge of the valley, a stop will be made at the Tamnougalte Kasbah, which will be visited with a local guide. It is the oldest Kasbah in the Dra'a Valley and is still partially inhabited.
Next, on your Zagora desert itinerary, you will enter the boundless palm groves of the Dra'a Valley and drive along the ancient Caravan Route to get a better view of the fortified kasbahs and green oases before arriving in Zagora.
Here, in the Zagora desert, a one-hour camel ride leads to the top of the dunes, from where the sunset is spectacular. At the camp, you will be welcomed with a traditional tea and Moroccan almond cookies.
In the evening, dinner is served under a starry sky, followed by an evening of Berber music and drumming around the camp fire. You will sleep in a comfortable nomad tent in a desert camp in the middle of the dunes.

Get up early enough to witness the spectacle of the sunrise on your excursion to the Zagora desert from Marrakech. You will be rewarded by a wonderful play of shadows on the windswept sand dunes. At the top of the dunes immerse yourself in moments of pure tranquility.
After breakfast at the camp, you will have the opportunity to take a second camel ride over the dunes. Shortly after, you will head to the village of Tamegroute, where you will visit the green potters' cooperatives and learn how to make pottery..
After Ouarzazate, you will continue to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where many Hollywood blockbusters were filmed, such as "Gladiator", "Alexander" and some scenes of the famous TV series "Game of Thrones". Visit the Kasbah with a local guide to learn more about the rich history of this place.
Afterwards, drive through the beautiful Ounila Valley to Kasbah Telouet. This kasbah once served as the palatial residence of the Lord of the Atlas and the Glaoui tribe. Some parts of the kasbah are in ruins, while others are still intact and are a good representation of Moroccan tile and wood craftsmanship.
After lunch, you will continue your journey through the desert of Zagora passing through Berber villages, along the green valleys, lined with roses, olive trees and goat grasses in search of grass and pasture, and over the Atlas Mountains, often covered with snow. We will return to Marrakech in the late afternoon to end your 2 day desert tour from Marrakech.
